Miles per tank or MPG ?

Fuel economy is not the most important aspect of TVR ownership, but with the current state of fuel prices it does make you think twice about a quick run out just for the hell of it.
So I was wondering what people tend to get from there cars. to start off heres mine.
filled tank ran til gauge read empty and refilled.
Car TVR Griffith 500 only engine mods are smoothbore pipes, carbon trumpets, pre-cats removed and ACT cherrybomb pipe.
194 miles 49.8 LTR's which = 17.7MPG
This was the run up to Chatsworth in convoy through mainly country roads and a steady motorway drive back Aprox 120miles plus some hooning around but certainley not OTT driving.

Not a clue but I think I get just over a couple of hundred miles out of a tank.
Interestingly enough a few years ago we drove doen to the French Alps in my old Griff with a friend (Lake) in his 4.5ltr LW Cerbera. We filled up a few times on the way down & each time it appeared the Cerbie was about 10% more economical on fuel, which came as a bit of a suprise.

Mine's a 500 with smooth-bore intake, but standard elsewhere and I get 280 miles to a tank on motorway driving (steadish 100mph on the autobahn), 220 for mixed driving, and about 180 if I push it hard.
Don't know what that equates to mpg, but as my fuel gauge never reads quite full, and I daren't let it read less than empty I find I'm normally only refilling with about 50 litres to full again. Ok, quick calculation done: autobahn drive = 25.45mpg!, mixed drive = 20mpg and hard drive = 16.4mpg.
Seems reasonable to me. Yours seems significantly lower Chris.
P.S Sorry not to have seen you at Chatsworth. I was looking forward to checking out your roof. I didn't make it there until after 3pm (I was 657th through the gate and I'm told there were 659 cars in total - many were leaving as I arrived).

Must have only just missed you, I think I left about 3.00.To be honest I thought it was a little heavy on fuel hence checking it recently.
The car is running well no taps knocks hardly any shunting and very responsive. Unless there is a rouge sencor somewhere the only other thing I can think of is the air filter is about due for renewing.

From 8600 miles on speedo to 14019 miles on speedo lowest M.P.G was 20.6 best was 27.21.(first owner after demo)
From 24.12.03 @ 43055 miles to 04.03.10 @ 52230 miles, lowest was 16.66 best 27.8 when I decided to keep comprehensive (an*l or what!) records inc ALL receipts after Tuscan 4.0 purchase (16.26/27.05).
Use included all types of driving inc European trips,France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain etc in both cars.
