Front Shock Absorber Needed And Surgeing Problem

Hi all , finally picked up my new Griff (98 in Starmist Blue) on thurs eve and have had a fantastic weekends motoreing in her and .... is she quick and All the old memorys of my previous 96 Griff have come flooding back.
But i am in urgent need of one Front (Drivers side ) Bilstein Shock as one is leaking like the Torrey Canyon. The Drivers side rear is worn but isnt leaking yet. Any one have a spare or more lying around. ?
Also she is Surgeing badly , at all speed and throttle openings , what is the likely cause and the cure ?

When was the car last serviced? I would check HT leads and extenders to begin with - that may help with the surging.

Thanks for the reply , its been garage stored for the last 3 years. Steve did an oil and filter change and i drove her away. Not pulled the plugs yet to check them and ime sure the engine has been played about with as shes quicker than my first one. But not sure of the spec yet.
Will check and change the leads but it feels as if the fuelling ? isnt right ?
