NON STARTER , ANY IDEAS ???

Just fitted a new Dizzy Cap and Rotor Arm ,Unipart parts , No.2 Ign lead snapped when changeing cap , most of the leads are the orig ones, Coil lead was corroded where it sits in the cap, i taped the No2 lead up with some parcel tape to get me to Halfords to get new leads.

Griff fired up fine , but i stalled her pulling away, tried to restart and its as if there was a Hydraulic ? Lock , she strugled to turn , and now just wont fire up. Pump is working, could it be due to the lead i have taped up ? I have wiggled the coroded coil lead around but no differece.
Where do i start fault finding ? Any ideas much appreciated . My no is 07776-110173 , could call you back .Dashing to Halfords now for new Ign leads . Thanks.

Hi Quinny , thanks for your reply , halfords useless , they dont sell ign leads anymore , and the look on the guys face when i said Rover V-8 Engine, you would have thought i was from Mars.

Managed to get some leads for a 6 cyl car from my local spares shop. I had mixed 2 of the leads up, swapped them around and she eventually fired up , ran a bit lumpy then cleared. I pulled one of the ( Ngk ) plugs and they are in need of replacement too.

It was such a nice eve sat and i just couldnt face haveing her off the road this w.end and Too many 996/7s to hunt down !!!!

Where can i get a full replacement lead set from ? Also which plugs should it have ?

I changed the dizzy cap last weekend and got in a spot of bother, i thought i one for one them, turns out i got it wrong, and as i found out the dizzy is not as per the diagram it is one notch out but got there in the end just had to take no.1 plug out and all was well, but a 5 min job took half a hour.
