Great W.End Drive/ Great place to visit / HOT M3 CSL

Took a run down to Sussex yesterday , one of my fave counties and to one of my fave places to visit. Its called Bodiam Castle , situated just off of the A.21 , about 9 miles north of Hastings. When i had my sadly missed 98 R-1 ,a couple of years ago an early Sunday morn blast down there was a real pleasure. Visited often in my 911 3.2 as well.
I orig found out about Bodiam via a 1966 copy of The Sunday Express Moteoring magazine, which carried a great Fashion Shoot Feature , Called "Cars To Make The Gravel Whisper" and which was shot there. Featured in the Shoot were a Lovely Dark Blue 289 Cobra, Silver GT-40 , Experimental Vauxhall Supercar and a Lovely Red Race Alfa TZ ? With some stunning Girls with them.
Allways an interesting selection of "our type! of cars and Big Bikes in the large grass car park area and fellow interesting enthusiasts to talk to. The Tea n Cakes in the Tea Rooms are superb as well ! And a picnic on the Grass is great.
Yesterday , i spotted a lovely Silver late 60s Porshe 912, complete with wedding ribbons, about 10 Morgans lined up togather and got chatting to a great older couple who had a mint Rare Auto 924 S , in white, one of just 2 autos left apparently. Well worth a visit and the Other half will love it too as its a very romantic location.
Had a good drive back in the company of an 04 M3 CSL, in a lovely Light Blue, nice car and Very Quick as well . Hi Red Baron, good to hear from you. You are lucky liveing nearby, Sussex is a lovely county.
Shame that your car is away at the moment, hope you get her back soon and thanks re the comment on the photo.
Bodiam is a great place to take the "New or Old" lady in your life, very romantic , they always enjoy a day there.
In the fashion shoot i mentioned , they took a superb photo of the Alfa , but about 75 yards behind where my Griff and G/F are. They parked it on the footpath right next to the moat. We did toy with the idea of driveing her up to the same location, but although it was nearly 6 , too many people around, so didnt want to get into trouble, but i intend to try again on another visit.
Perhaps we can meet there sometime ? Would make a great Griff get together .
Yes traffic was terrible , worst journey there i have ever had, was a bit unpleasant stuck in it , heat , roof down , heavy clutch etc etc. This is one of the Fashion Shoot Alfa photos.
