Dash clocks Help??

Does anyone know if the aluminium bezel on the dash clocks can be seperated from the dials to facilitate some colour changes?? Many thanks

My advise from Speedy cables was that they were an expendable item.they were pressed on and as such will be damaged on removal.

Hi thanks for the reply, if they are an expendable item where do we get new ones? and how are the stock ones pressed on, or are they glued on like most dash components??

As already stated the bezels are pressed on and thus expendable. However, I managed to drop a washer into the speedometer while constructing a new dash and as it would not shake free decided to open up the bezel. If you are very careful you can gradually prise up the whole thing bit by bit until it comes free. The washer in my case had stuck to the movements magnet. When replacing, again proceed very very carefully and ease the bezel back to its original shape, I used a wooden lolly stick so as not to damage the finish. The end result is not perfect but if you are careful the slight deformation at the back of the bezel is not noticable from the front. Having said that, not sure I would like to tackle the complete set in this way, more chance of a disaster.

When I remade my dash I took all the bezels off the clocks and sprayed them black.
As previously mentioned you just need to lever the edges up carefully all the way round.
I pressed them back using the flat blade of a screwdriver

I did try and buy sime from Speedy cables but they never replied to my e-mails !!
