Passenger leg room/ tyre pressure/rollbar padding

Fairly new to Griff 500 ownership, please can somebody can advise :-
My 98 non pas car has SO3s fitted 245/45/16 rear and 205/55/15 front. The handbook indicates 24 and 22psi, which seems fine for road use. Any body got an opinion about pressures for sprinting / hill climbing with the SO3s.The “bible” suggests increasing pressure but with the V8s I found more grip with reduced pressure. Another tyre question, Has anybody tried something really sticky for track days like Yokie AO32 or the Avon equivalent on the Griff.
I have a factory roll bar fitted which limits seat travel, where this is ok for me ( the driver ) the long legged female is complaining about leg room. Seems that an obvious solution is to relocate the battery, or replace it with a more modern battery type to gain a few inches. Any body done this ?
I have yet to be scrutinised but think that some roll bar padding may be required. As the bar fits snugly inside the roof I am challenged to see how to fit any. Somebody must have done it already.

Yes - some people have succesfully moved the battery into the boot. I've seen it done on a Chimaera and there's still room for the roof - different proposition with the tight fitting Griff set up though!
I think it worth doing some searching on here for battery types - from my limited knowledge I think you have to stick to the particular output of the standard one.
hi steve, you've done the right thing with the Griff of course so off to a good start!
as far as tyres pressures go, i found that steve was right and +2 all round (generally)was about right for most trackwork, however sprints and hillclimbs don't achieve the same temperatures so probs may arise.
i generally used to run -2 for road use to reduce tramlining and ease the ride. (my springs are stiffer and -2camber)
for the battery, red top [30] (see in demon tweaks) do a gell type high spec battery that has run my griff for a year now no probs. tho its a touch taller but its half the thickness allowing you to replace, cut back the battery box and foot panel and gain 3". which makes alot of difference. Don't get their box, it won't fit!
downsides are the battery is expensive (£145-00 from DT, find someone else. i think i paid around £120-00)and it very sensitive to being flattened, difficult to recover.
has to be connected to optimate conditioner etc £40-00. mine is and its been fine.
my rollbar came covered, it settles into the leather on the roff when raised (making an annoying noise for sometime) but then settles in. with the noise mine makes its not too much of a problem

Yep, any of these will work. However, one will result in you being single, presto pronto. I'll leave it to you to work out which 
Proper roll bar padding is flame resistant, I suspect the stuff you'd get from your local DIY shop will catch fire/melt/give off poisonous fumes in a fire. If you're tight on space you can get offset padding which is thick at the front and thin at the sides (if you see what I mean). If you're really stuck you can also get padding segments which only cover one side of the bar and are held on with cable ties, or make your own by trimming the standard padding. But I would be surprised if your rollover bar is so close to the roof that there isn't room for a layer of padding.
They are also more expensive because the foam is a higher density so that you don't end up smashing your nut on the metal as the foam compresses to paper thickness.
