Wanted - shocks.

Only had the car for 260 miles and it seems at lease one of the rear shocks is foobar'd.
The back end feels a bit queasy on medium-speed bends and acceleration, plus when going over some of those short/sharp rubber sleeping policemen at the local supermarket, the back wheels don't hit the ground the same (IYSWIM).

Soo...

If anyone has a set of reasonable shocks available, pref. Billys or better, then I'd be VERY interested!

Worn Bilsteins, tell me about it. My Griff has done 69k and the rears are S.....d. They are the Yellow Sport Units . Its very floaty at the back end , i suspect the rebound damping has gone and i dont think Bilsteins are re-buildable. Any shock that has covered around 40k will be past its sell by date.

Very unimpressed with Nitrons Customer Service so i def wont be giveing them any of my hard earned cash.

Who else Makes Shocks for the Griff ? Koni ? Spax ? Ohlins ? And who are the Stockists ?

I've got Intrax's on mine now. Car is not ready so have not driven them yet. They are fully adjustable, but very expensive. But I'm assured they'll be worth the dough.... here's hoping. But anyway, it is an option.

thanks for the offer, but that's over 25% of the car's value

If I had a quarter of that to spare for shocks, I'd probably be looking at RRs (car would probably not see the track).

I have a pair of original rear shocks from my 1992 Griff that I took off last week, not because of wear but to replace with AVO gas, fully adjustable ones to match the front, so selling at a reasonable price.

Another option to consider is Protech.
Just had mine rebuilt - very quick, inexpensive and painless. Feels way better now.

Thanks for that..

I've managed to get a set of reasonable-lookingGriff 500 ones, so am sorted for the now..

Still interested in a set of RR or used Nitrons, if anyone decides to upgrade further
