You didn't go for the 135's in the end then or the clip on numbers ?

Did the envelope arrive at Andy's with the tool and wiring in it?

Didn't have any choice about either the 135's or the clip on numbers Johno, they had neither !

So I got straights because the Magnacores I have are straight so they will be OK.
They don't sell clip on numbers any more apparently. So big feck off numbers you heat shrink on are the order of the day. Not such a bad thing with my rapidly failing ayesight eek

Popped up to see Andy today and picked up the tool thing. Cheers mate, much appreciated thumbup

Eyup wavey

Yes they were from Real Steel.
Including heat shrink numbers for the visually impaired and postage it all came to about £83 and delivered within 2 days of the phone order.

It wasn't obvious why I've got 2 complete sets of plug ends, but I've figured that out now.
I'll post some info up later

No, sadly I don't have the inclination to go through the pain of installing coil packs and everything that goes with them.

I'm replacing Magnacores just in case they were the cause of my rev counter going a bit beserk and my mate Johno would have murdered me if I'd not gone with Moroso.
Still, it gives me someone to blame if they are kak hehe

The extra plug ends were for something called a HEI distributor. Took a little while staring at the box and instructions to figure that out, then a quick word with my mate Google to figure out what the hell a HEI distributor is.

Its a bit of a faff measuring, cutting etc and quite time consuming, but its satisfying when they fit perfectly.
Tomorrow will tell if I've done it all right - when I fit the last couple and try to start it.

I've been running coil packs with Moroso leads for 2yrs. Mine runs the P38 coil pack and the length of the Moroso leads are no issue at all, there's plenty.

I did explain all of this to you in the instructions Mr Barreti. . . You not trust me hehe

Was looking to get rid of my extenders, use these and replace my leads.

Any idea on which Moroso lead number set I need? I want black ideally. I think it is 73232.

Id like to know too, real steels catalogues suggests 73232 are black straight and 73233 are black 135 degrees.
Probably the same on the chimp, id be interested in a set if you were ordering from summit and could pm me.

Its probably not obvious but as I read back through the thread I can see that between us Johno and I ordered one of each.

The 135 version has a bend in the lead at the spark plug end. These are the preferred ones if you ask Johno as it takes the lead away from the manifolds and avoids them breaking down due to being cooked.
These weren't available when I bought them so I had the straight version.
I've had these on without any heat protection since I bought them and haven't had any problems - though I only do about 1500 miles a year so I'm probably not a very good measure of longevity in anything.

Was looking at the 73233 leads which are 135 degree, although these list as 45 degree but are the same.

Want to lose the extenders and have NGK BPR6ES plugs so should work.

Probably worth dropping them an email Paul as their descriptions are contradictory.

See this
http://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/mor-73214

It says in the short description its a 90 degree set.
If you roll up and look at the detail it says its a 45 degree set.

So personally I wouldn't trust either but email them, tell them what you want and get them to give you the part number to order.

Will do. I want black leads, no fancy stuff.

Jegs list the same number but 135 rather than 45.

Looking at titanium boots to cover and I'll need leads numbers too. I don't do many miles either but the leads inc. shipping and tax aren't cheap.

Is it OK to borrow the tool when I get them? No rush as ever.

Real Steel sell them as well. Real easy to use if you have a vice.
