Exhaust - Renew or Weld

Hi,

One of the rear exhaust pipes on my Griff 500 looked like it was drooping slightly lower than the other and on closer inspection I discovered that the drivers side pipe has come away from the silencer box.

It doesnt look like it has rusted through, and also recently I bottomed the car out when out for a drive, so I think it might have cracked under impact.

Is it possible to weld these up or am I just delaying the inevitable?

Ive checked out a couple of systems from the usual TVR online sellers and nearly fell off my seat, so any advice on how to avoding spending best part of £500 on a system would be gratefully received.

I wouldnt care but its insurance renewal time as well.

If it just split your local Bodyshop could remove & weld it back in a couple of hours, So your be looking at £100.00 max.. They are made of stainless so should be split & not rust,,

Will weld up no prob,just make sure the pipe isn't crushed

Ive done a half decent job of reprofiling the section of pipe that hangs down the lowest - just after the flexi-pipe. Its now flat bottomed so should give a bit more clearance

Thanks for the advice - I'll try the lowest cost option first and see how it lasts. I hadnt realised the whole system was stainless ....
