Anyone ever fitted side pipers to a griff?

Thought this after test driving one and thinking how much nicer it sounded from behind then in the cabin.

ps. Excuse the typo, obviously mean pipes!

Lots of reasons you couldn't, not least you wouldn't be able to open the doors as they wrap right under the body.

You can still fit side pipes, the doors wouldn't be an issue. What would be the key issue would be the ground clearance. Seen them done on a Wedge and not executed well imho.

If you consider you've got 150mm from chassis rail to floor and you're going to put a pair of pipes exiting below that, you wouldn't clear a cat's eye, let alone anything else.

Other option is to pursue a Tuscan racer style, built into bottom of door area, but now you've gotta re-design the doors etc etc . .

Also, they blow all the st up from the kerb in your face, they'll stink out your cabin in traffic and your passenger will get a hot seat . . .

I was going to add the bit about them needing to be so low you'd lose ground clearance but got a phone call as I was posting so didn't finish it.

Apart from all the other things Johno has suggested I think they'd look crap as well (IMO of course)

Look good on a Cobra, not a TVR.

Besides, 108db coming out of each side pipe at a distance of 2ft below your head on anything more than a 2hr drive, gives you the same sort buzzing in your head as sticking your head in the speakers at an AC/DC concert.

How do I know this?.......
