Speedo not working + dimmest of all dials: coincidence?

Just a thought while I wait for an imminent delivery of speedo transducers. My speedo is the dimmest of all the dials. Some of the lights around the perimiter of the dial are not working. Could this be an indication of loose connection or something that is causing both problems? The speedo otherwise works fine with fully functioning warning lights at the bottom of the unit.

He's right, mine is dimmer than the other dials too, I have been reliably informed that all Griff speedos are the same, by a few different sources too.

Could be essential for those drivers that prefer driving on the rev-counter. Would have been even better if a larger diameter rev-counter was positioned centrally (ala Porsche).

Chaps, it's because the rev counter has 2 x bulbs and the speedo has one because due to the space occupied by the milometer and odometer using the space where a second bulb might go. ok

Ah well, I'll bow out at this point - at least we are agreed they are dimmer than the rest of the instruments

Actually I remember what I was told - it's the odometer gear that obscures the bulbs from illuminating the bottom of the dial

Could it be that lower wattage bulbs are used in the Speedo unit accidentally on purpose?
