I've had my Griff for all of a month - in that time it has had some niggles. Things like some nasty sounding ticking noises that turned out to be debris trapped behind the drive belt.

Then on Saturday it decided to show it's true colours and refused to start. I'd driven it all of about a mile to the local petrol station, filled up and then found myself stranded. Everything seemed to work except for the starter! In the end a nice RAC man hotwired the starter for me and got it going.

Since then it worked perfectly, the fault - whatever it was had disappeared. That is until last night when it did exactly the same thing again. This time I was prepared and had a screwdriver in the car. Having spotted the obvious vauxhall partsbin steering column electrics and going through weeks of hell with a mkII cavalier in the dim and distant past I reckoned I knew what the problem would be. One quick wiggle of the ignition barrel electrics and the car is up and running again! I had exactly the same problem on my cavalier - the wires make very poor contact.

Now to get back to fitting those nice oversized Leven dash vents...

The metal column inside the barrel that turns the ignition switch snapped clean off on mine recently. TVR's get a bad rep regeards reliability but I'm sure half the time these faults are caused by crap components from other manufacturers.
