Manifold gaskets

I have to change the manifold gasket on my Griff,I would like it on the road by saturday and in order to do this do I have to drive miles to a TVR center for a genuine gasket set or can i simply buy standard Rover V8 gaskets ???

Any help gratefully received.

not sure if robs are the same as these, but these ones lasted me a lot longer than the standard ones.

didnt get mine in time so am using my existing ARP's with new sprung loaded washers time will tell

Thanks for all the responses so far, i fitted new manifold gaskets and have now discovered its the head gasket!

what led you to believe it was the manifold gasket, if your head gasket has blown?

Hi Clive told by mechanic it was manifold gasket but your right just been confirmed it is haed gasket ggggrrrr i`m now trying to find information on changing head gasket any ideas torque settings etc etc

Can anyone help as it turns out my head gasket has gone! My local mechanic can do the job but we are struggling to find information on torque sequence and settings etc etc, HELP

Here is a V8 overhaul manual for the Rover V8.

However it may be more appropriate to check with TVR Power who built the engines in the first place. I believe there are some different choices for head bolts and debate about which are the best.

No sorry I don't. As there isn't much available in the form of official TVR manuals you're best bet is to speak to one of the specialists for advice.
