HC question .... but not the normal one

Right probably a simple answer but im curious anyways.... i have a 500,im sure all 500's are or at least were on the original cam of the HC variety but heres the thing,i attended the growl today and looked at several cars and none had the same plenum badge stating HC,or more relevent as badges can be easily swapped,the engine number on my build plate has HC at the end,again none of the cars i looked at had this ? ..... any ideas as to why the difference ?

Was at the Growl today, just checked my engine number; ends with HC! [ 94 preserp, t5 box]

So its a hit or miss thing whether they are stamped as HC or not ...

I might be talking utter rubbish, but I recall someone saying ages ago that while all 500's have HC engines, the 500's that were originally destined for Chimaera's had HC on the badge to distinguish the fact that they were high lift cams from the standard cams in some of the 4.x cars. But, as so few 500 Chimaeras were produced, the HC badged 500 engines were also used in the Griffith.

Don't know if it's true, but it was on here... so it must be!
