Windscreen replacement help needed.

To add to my other issues over the last few days, I also have a cracked screen.

Where is the best place to get a new one fitted ? I believe Autoglass can supply and fit, but I dont want to let someone who has never done one before bodge the job, I need someone who isnt going to mess up the seal or the leather inside on the dash top.
Hopefully I can get this done through my insurance.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

I contacted Phil who put me in touch with a guy at my local branch who had replaced a few TVR screens, great service would recommend them, I know a number of other people have also got their screens through Phil, he's based in Bristol as well, so possibly not too far away from you?

dont get Gavin from Autoglass to do it, he is a tt who drives at 6mph around a roundabout in his van.

Simon, my screen went at the Growl two years ago.

Autoglass did mine, they complained about the new seal, as they take a while to "take shape".

Might be worth asking if they can reuse your seal?

When mine was fitted, they couldn't get a satisfactory job, so after 5 hours I brought it home and they had to come to my house the nest day to finish it off !

What a refreshing change to speak to someone who knows TVRs and the little quirks they have !! I've been promised a fitter who knows the cars very well and has done a fair few before. They also called A-Plan to get the authorisation, and agreed a very good price so I only have to pay the excess. Excellent service.

Your car looked very smart Simon (I was the yellow one parked next to you) so after all the issues in terms of fuel tank, etc. it was cruel for the screen to go but glad its being sorted out and quickly too.

Fingers crossed when Mark Adams has worked his magic setting the car up properly (hopefully by September at the latest) the new screen is in (Wednesday) and I eventually get an
ali tank fabricated (no real rush but the sooner the better) I can enjoy another 2 years trouble free !!

I was considering doing it after the re-spray anyway, but now the choice has been made . . .

National mobile Windscreens are your friend. Can't recommend them highly enough. The guys from the Bristol branch knew their stuff and apparently do a TVR every other month or so. Took their time over it to make sure it was done properly, and seemed enthusiastic and knowledgable about the marque.

That is always good to know. I think I will bookmark this thread just in case I need a new one anytime soon.
