Going to take a stab in the dark and say it is Mr Cosmo's (Dave) Griff.

I know it is sad thinking I recognise a car by its engine bay!!

If it is his, then yes it is a very nice Griff, some may remember it from the Growl a few years ago, it was sporting a bra......

Yep it is Dave's car. I spoke to him at the OP trackday and he said he'd had a couple of difficult years with a big wage cut at work and other stuff so he's just cut back on his activities to make sure he can keep the car. He was gutted he missed teh Growl but hopefully next year will be better.

Makes sense to me.

Yeah, I reckon it is too. He was there a couple of years ago when I went. I also saw Quinny but as I approached him to say hello, he drove off.

Hi Quinny,nice photos mate.Didnt get chance to say bye.Yes it does get used quite a lot just not this year sadly.Done the last three growls but we had 20% pay cut and no pay rise this year so some events had to take a back seat.Normal service resumes next year.The forums won't let me sign on as mrcosmos for some reason so had to change.Big hello to everyone,see you soon. I think there's the small matter of keeping 'standard' as well. OK there's aftermarket leads and bolts in the alternator bracket to cover the holes, but in essence it's very 'standard' looking.

It's a real testament to the owner. I know how much it takes to keep my engine bay looking not as good as that, but better than many doing the miles I do . . .

The hoses are all original from 1996.Everything is standard apart from braided brake hoses and rose jointed droplinks.Dave[V8 GRF]wrote an article for me in Januarys Sprint 2008. Dave.

Quinny: I will agree with that engine bay being very tidy/nice and easy on the eyes. Is the rest of the car the same and is it used on a regular basis???? On this side of the pond I find many cars that would probably equal what you have shown us in your posted photos BUT most of these cars (trailer queens) travel less miles in a year than I put on our 3 TVRs on any nice weekend. It is nice to have a very tidy car that everyone drools over but doesn't a car need to be used to be truely appreciated??? Quinny send me your mailing address and I can post a DVD to you on our TVR ownership from this side of the pond. Our efforts may not equal yours but we try to educate as many as possible about the TVR marque.

If you can look back to the article I wrote back in 2008 you'll see the rest of the car does match the engine bay and is definately NOT a trailer/garage queen and in a normal year gets a lot of use. As Dave said low use this year but he usually is out pounding the show trail.

The car is a complete credit to the owner.

David: I would love to read your article about that Griff but our family didn't have a TVRCC membership back in 2008.

I shall now hang my head in shame as I got an e-mail from Quinny informing me about the mileage on that Griff and it sounds like it gets used. It is nice to see how much effort some owners put into their cars and I appreciate all their hard work but unfortunately many owners over here go the trailer queen route. We took one of our cars to a track day on Saturday and the owner of the shop that does most of our work started to give me a hard time when we showed up at his booth about the cleanliness of our car but we enjoy getting our "TVR grins on" and it is always spic and span when he wants it for a car show to promote his business. We try to get as many miles per year as possible but with 3 TVRs, it can be hard as we usually have about 7/8 months of sportscar driving weather in our area and the remaining months usually have some driveable days.
