The black dials on my '92 griff have 'TVR' written on the face somewhere - all apart from the clock. This looks like some generic vauxhall/ford part and just has the word 'quartz' written on it. It doesnt look original because the bevel edge is a slightly different shape and shade to the rest of the dials and doesnt fit quite as snug in the dash. Was this the original clock? Or should it have the TVR logo on it?
How very true, on both counts! It sounds like someone has placed a time bomb under the dash. I've since taken to disconnecting it.Is your TVR sign on the top of your Speed dial?
As mine is and it means that when I am doing 70 + I cannot see the speed as it is directly down and hidden behind the steering wheel.
Makes speed monitoring a little awkward. At least til I get to 90mph then I can see it again without doing too much neck exercise!!!!!!!

On mine the TVR logo is at the top (same with rev counter) with 70mph indicated dead centre at the bottom of the dial and I can see all the info I need. The rev counter and speedo are viewed nicely through the gap in the steering wheel provided I'm going in a straight line, but when I'm cornering the last thing I'm looking at is the speedo anyway! The only way I can see it being obscured is when the steering wheel is adjusted upwards to the maximum when I get in and out. Cant imaging anyone actually drives it like that though!

The 4.x Griffs had a speedo with 70 at the bottom, expressly for the purpose of not being obscured by the wheel. They soon changed for the conventional style with 70 at the top.
Actually, having checked, make that 95.
My 1992 Griff clock isn't logo'd. It looks absolutely spot on identical to the one my Dad had in his 2.8i capri years ago. I'd say it's a Ford. Mine's ticks quite loudly and I've seen it in other precats. I'd say you have the original clock there.

Mine's an Aug 92, has the Quartz clock described above and has a very loud tick - interupts the melody from the ass end !.
Often wondered if it was original. I guess if TVR did the clock we would have to get used to a diff. time zone - they all do that sir !.

More like lock him a soundproof booth blindfolded for 10 hours while you curse and struggle with the dashboards. He'll never suspect a thing, I'm sure
