Well, got the Griffith back from it's service last week and had the sports exhaust mod done at the same time! Car was running lovely and sounded awesome too! To top it all off I've got the car booked in at the TVR Bodyshop next week for front and rear light mods and a full respray!
However.....
Driving home this evening I hear a massive thud from underneath the car, so I pull over, check it all out and figure I must have driven over something in the road... so carry on with my journey only to be greeted with another bang and thud from underneath, followed by the battery light coming on!
I pull over to find the Fan belt hanging off as well as the crank pulley laying on the frame!
The bolt has sheared and looks like it will be a right git to get out!
I really don't know what to do about it at the moment... could it be related to anything that may have been done in the service

Had this happen to mine and is quite common. It is unlikely to have been touched at the service and is just one of them things.
What happened to me was the bolt sheared and slammed into the oil filter at 115mph ! It caused a rather quick exit of the oil. Fortunate I turned the motor of in about 3 secs flat !
The garage (no names mentioned) suggested it may have been this that happened, but didn't check it and as I drove off to a track day 4 days later the bottom pulley (which hadn't yet fallen) decided that 2/3rds up the M1 was the ideal time !!
The issue you may have is getting the bottom pully re-balanced to the engine. TVR cheat when balancing thebottom end of the engine by bakancing the ends of the crankshaft like the pulley and not each rod etc ...
Apart form that it getting the remaining thread out of the end of the crankshaft. Worst case scenario is engine out and crankshaft out. Although I have never heard of anyone having to have this done ...

You might want to give Tower View a call. I had the pulley/timing ring seperate which needed a new pulley and then the problem of balancing came up. They got a pulley balanced to match the original so that the engine didn't have to come apart.

The pulley doesn't appear to be damaged though, so hopefully this shouldn't be a problem!
Getting the sheared bolt out though is what's worrying me! Don't know whether to tackle it myself, or take it to a dealer/specialist! Looks like at least the front part of the exhaust/cats has to come off as well as some of the frame!

Mine started to loosen up, I could tell from the slight clonk it made when revving (slot had elongated and pulley moving). Steve Howard replaced the pulley (cost about £70 IIRC, from TVR Power). He also stated that it was common enough problem.
Spark erosion maybe get it out in situ..

mine did the same let go under hard acceleration
low loader back to blackpool
"they do that sir"
it is not a big job but the left in bit of bolt has to be spark cut quite easy if you have the equipment, new balanced pulley , and most important fit a high tensive bolt. the pulley by the way has to come from TVR power not Blackpool total cost about 300 pounds
good luck
