Rear Badge Required - for my new Griffith 500

After a very long time dreaming I now have a Griffith 500. It is a 1994 left hand drive 500 with just under 20,000 miles on it. Was yellow when it left the factory, but purchaser wanted red so had it repainted, the interior and roof are brown.

Smile on my face all week!

Anyway, not the reason for my post. My question is regarding the rear badge. Apparently the original badge was stolen more than once; when the car was painted red the mounting holes were filled and the badge never installed.

Now I want to put a badge on the car and it seems they aren't available. I look to Leven's site and it appears they do a refurb of your existing badge, but not a new one.

P.S. I am looking for chrome, not gold.

Any help would be appreciated!

So, back on the hunt, anyone have one or know a source my car seems naked without it.

I don't see why it's 'not in the spirit' or 'cheating' if you can't be there it's like leaving a bid with the auctioneer in a real auction.

It still comes down to the fact that if you're the highest bidder you'll win if not you won't.

As to the discussion of what is fair in auction. I don't tend to bid too early, or be the first in, I tend to bid in the final hours. I use this approach for online and similarily for live auctions I tend to let the bidding start rolling with someone else - although you some times need to put your neck out. I do tend to bid *near* the end, not *at* the end. With that said a final second bid is still fair game, auctions are a bit of a game in the end, and there are lots of different styles of play.

This is one of those cases where I had a few hours to go, and got roped in to meetings - my loss - but work comes first, have to pay to support the habbit of TVRs and such.

Now let me inform some of the other readers of this thread on how Mr Stewart acts at an auction in real time. He and some of his other "partners in crime" will bid on anything that is TVR related and last year my Spousal Unit and my 2 daughters watched this group bid on an old secondhand pair of jeans that somebody was actually wearing at the moment and it is rumored that they had once been worn by the last owner in a TVR. I have pictures to prove this but I didn't have a can of custard handy. Rob I wait my time and I get revenge for the trailer picture stolen from my flashdrive. See you all at Mr. Wadmans and Bronte but I can't go stateside this year to attend Woodwork but should make 2011. Good luck on your search and I'm still waiting for pics of the new addition.

PS. Rob let everyone on here know about Out of Woodwork 2010 and you never know, maybe someone from the UK will attend and keep Mr.Lyons company. We will know on the 15th if Tony Jones can meet us in "Toronta" for the BBQ and Bronte.

Well Wayne, the jeans were far too small for me, so you will note that I didn't keep bidding, and in the end didn't win them - maybe it was Bill that did? It is all a blur for some strange reason.

As for the flash drive - yes, that was sneaky - but you have to admit it made for a bit of fun, and did raise some good money for the club, although at the expense of a wee bit of you children's inheritance. Sorry you won't be making Woodwork this year, but I suspect I will need the extra year to save up my funds to save me when your revenge is unleashed!

Look forward to seeing you two at John's and Bronte, I will try to get a few photos posted in advance, but if not you will meet the new Griffith in the flesh then.
