Stalling?

My Griff 500 runs pefectly most of the time.

A few weeks ago on a warm day after repeated short journeys with the engine hot it would not idle. The revs just drop and it cuts out. It restarts just fine though.

Today again after several short journeys around town, went to shop came out and again it stalls. It stalls whenever you dip the clutch. However leave it for an hour and its back to normal.

The temperature guage is solid on 90, lower at speed, the fans cut in and out, there is no coolant loss so its not related to overheating.

I'm guesing an electrical component that doesnt like the heat or fuelling?

Any ideas-pointers?

Start by cleaning the stepper motor.

My Griff always used to do that when sitting around town...

Never really did get to the bottom of it???

cleaned the stepper motor - took all of 5 minutes. will see what happens

It either worked, and he's still out enjoying himself or, it didn't and he must be with the RAC!...should have gone to Greenflag mate

dunno yet whether it worked. It hasnt stalled since but have not done lots of short journeys on a hot day on account its england it summer and its bloody raining all the time. still dry forecast for goodwood on friday - anyone else going?
