If only we had been in the Griff

This, came up behind my Motorhome last week in Mid France. He was in a Big Hurry. Lorrys held him up, but he eventually disapeared at high speed.

If only i had taken the Griff, or R.1 or.....

Even an R1 would only match it over 100mph, would have been fun though, I love punching above my weight in the Chimaera sometimes as people in France think it to be a nice classic car but on the empty 40-50 smooth flowing rural roads where i live it can embarrass some expensive tourist exotica.

Maybe the OP just thinks it would have been nice to have a blast with, not a race. I'm sure he's aware that the Porsche is in a completely different performance league. Well, I assume he's aware ?

Well that particular model of porsche is in a different, along with the turbos.........nice to blatt with if the driver place nice

Stick to Carrera s & s4's........ you won't leave them, but they will be wondering where they're money has been spent

I was recently driven to Spain in a 996Turbo. On the way there we reached 178mph and the car was still pulling. This obviously was not achieved on public roads.......but thats not the point here. It had Porsche bucket seats and the air con didnt work which came as a complete suprise to us. Even with these slight down sides it still took us 1400miles without making us feel like we were completely trashed the other end. Oh, just one other thing, it was an auto (tiptronic). Now we all love the Griff and its raw performance but, I think we are talking in different leagues here. In my oppinion.

its all down to the driver/rider who has got the biggest gonads i had a little dual last year in my griff
with a new nissan skyline he bailed at 150 mph,leaving me with a big grin.a motorbike would easily out run the porsche like the op has said he was getting stuck in traffic a bike never does

mate honestly, pipe down, you have no idea. I had a griff 500 and well aware how capable they are, against one of these or a 996T you would be left wondering which way they went. Gonads or not.

When i first got my 450 Chim 3 years ago i did a track day at Oulton Park and 2 GT3RS racers were on track practising for the coming weekends racing.
They past me and dissapered as though i was standing still.
I was truly blown away.
And i am a racing God

its still down to the driver a fast driver will always be faster than a slower driver even if he his in a slower car/bike

Talking of Skylines.
Most are pretty average to poor performance wise.
It takes some serious mods to make a rapid machine but they are out there

Lets not get carried away here. Driver ability/bottle aside, if anyone seriously thinks a Griffith 500 would give a GT3RS a run for its money, then one is deluded.

Griffs are very fast cars but there are plenty of cars which are quicker.
