Do 245/45/16 tyres fit 7.5j rims as on Griff ?
Discussion
Help please, I want to fit a pair of Yokohama A032r 245/45/16 to the rear of the Griff. The original Bridgestone’s are 245/45 and fit ok on the wheel which is ( allegedly 7.5j) Yokie say they need 8-8.5j for that size. The tyre fitter says it would be OK. Any opinions before I buy ? I need to decide quickly.
Steve, 7.5 rims will just take 245's. (after all it was the standard factory fit). However if you're going to track your car (I assume you are if you're buying 032's)I would recommend a slightly narrower tyre - e.g 235 or 225.
I use Kumho 225x50x16 Ecsta V700 hard compound tarmac tyres for trackdays. Kumhos are a lot cheaper than Yokos and are pretty good grip and wear imho.
