Splitting UJ -Steering Column to Rack

Guys
I need to change the oil seal on the pinion in my power steering rack therefore the UJneeds to come off the pinion. I have loosened it off and marked it but there doesnt seem to be enough slack to push the UJ off the pinion. Should this just come off without loosening the rack or column or is it more involved than this??

I did mine a while back and had to slacken both top and bottom UJ's, mine non PAS but should be similar
apologies if you've already done this.

You need to remove the bolt completely. The end of the column has a groove that the bolt sits in.

Thanks for the quick response - my question may have been misleading. The bolt is out and the UJ is loose enough to come off the spline but I am not sure there is enough slack or give in the rest of the column for me to push it off. I will try loosening the top UJ and removing the bolt and see if that helps. Let me know if you think otherwise.

Not sure about that - I loosened off the rack mounts to disconnect mine
