As promised, a quick update. Car is back from having the chassis sorted. The outriggers turned out to definately need replacing, and the slightly bent bit at the front has been replaced. All got cleaned up and waxoiled.

The nose is now in position and about to be glassed in prior to a complete respray. After that it is putting all of the bits back on. Unfortuantely, as the outside is going to look so smart, I have had my arm twisted to replace the carpets (which were truly fubard), and put in some better seats. More piccys to follow.

Would think about 80% of cars have the inspection hole cover missing from the ammount of comments on here about them,not an issue.

A comment re the bung issue - my car had a report from a previous service by a well known agent saying clutch squeeks which could be the fingers starting to fail. This was before I bought it so as clutch ws not that old I had a word with my local people (X Works) who told me that with the bung missing the clutch gets damp in and that is what makes it sqeek more often than not. It hasn't been an issue and all is well (hope not famous last words ...) but I do now have a bung fitted which the guys have also put sealant round to stop it coming off.

Didn't know there was supposed to be a bung. Is it the same part number as the front splitter?
