engine oil volume

gents - how much oil goes in a 500 at oil change time - want to but some but dont know how much? neither my book nor seteve heaths bible have the answer

@6 litres generally. Kind of open-ended depends what percentage you manage to drain out, how much you can pre-fill the filter with (nearly a litre itself if you persevere), how much you want left for top ups...

If there is an oil cooler you can add another couple of litres.

I think realistically most of us that use a good oil over the years tend to buy 2x4l or 2x5l for a change + top ups.

thanks - I will get the lot out I am fitting a john eales baffled sump. i have an oil cooler as well but will fit that later
