Key fob battery life

I reckon one of my fobs is getting low on battery juice.

Is it a simple case of opening the fob, removing battery and replacing ? I assume so but will this cock up the immobiliser in any way ?

If it’s a META, might do.

Change the batteries (there are two) well away from the car, if then it doesn’t work, disconnect the car battery for a few minutes and that should reset the system.

If you've got an original square with rounded edges TVR fob then be very gentle as the mechanism isn't built well and prone to break.
Suggested replacement is annually but this is OTT. These are what you need, 2 for each fob:

Always use them for odd batteries, usually arrive next day and very good VFM.

Don't forget to leave the door open, so you can release the bonnet to get to the battery? Assuming you have to that in your car.

Good tip, thanks. The battery is actually in the cockpit area but I'll make sure I leave the door open for this reason too.

If you have two fobs...only change the battery in one at a time! The META fob batteries last around 5 years, I bought replacements in BOOTS.

Nice one - ordered 4 for £6. Which is a bargain considering I checked in a Jewellers today and they wanted £12 EACH !!!
