Leven Hood Cover

Afternoon Gents,

I have had a couple of fellow Griff owners ask about my Leven Hood Cover and how it works so I thought I'd knock up a thread with a few pics and explanations.

I personally prefer my Leven cover to a full cover as I do not hibernate the car during winter and I do not have a garage, I therefore drive the car at least once a week to keep the battery topped up so i needed a cover that was easy to fit and remove with the need to enlist the help of another person.

The Griff version is very similar to the wedge version reviewed on The Wedge Pages aside from the straps that go inside the bonnet and boot are flaps which hold the roof in place very well.

The cover looks complicated when you first go to fit it but in practice it is very well designed and simple fit. Here are some pictures taken just now

Wing mirror straps

As you can see I have loosened these, this is because the cover is held in so securely by the front and rear flaps these are not needed to hold the cover in place


I am very happy with mine, it has exceeded my expectations so well done Leven!

Hope you are well, I will be at the next meet so perhaps see you there?

I have used one for a long time, make sure that you have no dirt on the body as it does mark the paint if windy on the seem edge.
I used mine for two years non stop and it has marked the paint on the boot around to the mirrors where the cover is fixed around the mirrors.
When you remove it when it is cold or frozen this increases the scratch risk.

I am very particular in my application of it, just keep on top of your waxing to minimise the risk.

I will show you the marks at the next meet.

Hello sir, I am good thanks, hope you and the missis are both well.

Thanks for the advice, I'd be interested in seeing the marks on your car. I'll be sure to take extra care when removing and re-fitting it in that case hopefully avoid marking mine.

He owns a BMW and a Nissan Prinmera so he probably thinks it's complicated.

Excellent cover, I used mine regularily when the Griff was kept outside but use it less now I have a garage but it did the job on Julie's Copen last night.

That looks pretty good. I use a full cover from hamilton classics which is great but it is that much more bulky. Luckily I am such a lanky sod that I can fit it and fold it on my own but in dirty/wet weather it isn't a job I look forward to
