I actually offered £13,750 for this car (after £13k & 13.5k were rejected), the owner also turned this offer down and asked if I could meet him a little closer to £14k so I said I'd sleep on it overnight. By the following morning I'd decided against it (the missus didn't go for pink!). Pleasant guy, nice car, just goes to show a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, made the same mistake myself with a 350i once.
So, is somebody who offers £13,750 on a car advertised at £14,500 and, when it's turned down, goes on to buy the same model elswhere a timewaster or a missed opportunity?

I remember Melvyn.I bumped into him at Peninsular TVR in Exeter about 5/6 years ago. I was out for a coastal hoon in my Griff and had popped in for a browse, and he had come down to look at a sparkly blue Tuscan S that had been sat on Peninsulars forecourt for about 3 years and had halved in value( if I remember correctly it had been 39995 and had dropped to 21995ish and now owned by someone about 2 miles away from me!)He was a funny old chap. Knew what he wanted and was very particular but didn't know too much about TVR's. I talked him out of buying the Tuscan and think I convinced him he would be better off with a Griff.

but you can't have everything, "Mellow Gunmetal" doesn't quite have the same ring about it. Still, I'm pleased with it and I'd forgotten what it's like to have a real driving car again

Apart from that you did not waste my time like others did.

Fernhurst wanted it for the same price. I guess I undersold it as it is now up for £17.5K and now SOLD by all accounts. Don't think the dealer had to do much to it as it was a good car.
