Temperature guage sensor location ?

Hi,

I suspect that my griff's sensor that feed the temperature gauge is on the way out as it has started behaving very eratically recently. Does anyone know the engine location for this sensor on 1998 500 ?
I know there are three seperate sensors (Otter, Ecu and Temperature gauge), I can find otter and another one just behind the dizzy (this is ECU i think), but I can't find any more ?

You are looking in the right area, the ECU and the Guage sensors are fairly close together. Just to add to the confusion there may well be another sensor which is unused and is the original Land Rover one. The TVR one fits in a big brass bush under the front of the manifold. The landy one which is above the manifold does the same job but as I understand it is calibrated differently.

I think i have found it "The temperature sender for the dash is the one behind the distributor pointing at the base of it, the one with a single terminal, the ecu temp sender is on top of the inlet manifold with a injector style plug on it".

Does anyone know where I can order a replacement sensor ? Racing Green ?

Before you do that clean and tighten up the spade terminal, that was all mine needed.
