Red Griff L313 TUP
Discussion
Hi,
Does anyone know any history behind this car?
It's a red Griff 500 on an 'L' plate but it says it wasn't 1st registered till 1999.
What would this suggest? That it went abroad from new? It was stored for 5 years?
Just curious as I'm very interested in the car and everything seems to be in order just a bit puzzled by this 5 year gap!
Thanks in advance

No it's definately a 94 car according to the HPI check carried out on it!
DVLA agree. Odd it has been somewhere for 5 years and has a `94 plate. The vehicle details for L313 TUP are:
Date of Liability 01 02 2010
Date of First Registration 12 07 1999
Year of Manufacture 1994
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 4997CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour RED
It was owned by Dave Whitehouse for a number of years, he was a West Mids member. He looked after it and from memory it was an early 500. I knew it was for sale but that may have been 2 years back now, didn't know it had sold or where it went to. The reg is the same as when Dave owned it so suspect that was the original reg.

Thanks for all the replies and the info given has all been of help including an e-mail from Tony of HHC who knew the cars early history.
It was initially over in Eire up until 1999 when it returned here. All of this is documented in the history which is a mighty impressive mountain of bills and the original stamped book going all the way back to 1994.
I have purchased the car and will have it in the next couple of weeks. It needs a bit of work on the interior but everything else on it seems to be in good shape. Outriggers have just been done too so one less headache there too.
Once again thanks for the replies.

Hi RWA441, It's been a while since I've been on here. L313TUP was my car between 2003 and 2007 and I loved it lots, I still miss it.
I replaced the gearbox, shocks and a lot of other bits while I had it. It was a pretty solid car but I'm glad to see the outriggers were done because from memory that was prob' next on my list if I'd kept it.
She was featured in Practical Performance Car magazine in November 2005. You might want to get a copy if you can. Give me your address and I'll post you a copy of the CD I have with the photo shoot pictures if you want.
Glad to see she is still going strong and would be nice to see it again some day.
All the best.
Dave.

Was about to say this but you figured it out...My Espace was originally registered in Eire and my v5 says it was first registered 3 yrs later when it came over here but it carries a plate date that matches when it was first road registered in Eire.RAW-SEWedge said:
You're clearly still insane! Prob' still eating your dinner off a stack of spare wheels too.
Yes we are. I have got more wheels now - 2 sets of estorils, 3 sets of wedge 350 lattice, 2 sets plus a couple of spares of Amils, 2 Gottis, 5 T Slots - around 37 in total - frightening.FFG
