TVR & Golf...... WTF!

Has anyone else noticed this in the events section........

I don't play golf but at the mo i have a set of clubs in my garage belonging to someone else, i thought it was a standing joke about chimp owners and golf clubs. but looking at the replies of this thread most of the ones interested in golf own a chimp. I might even try and see if they fit in my boot tomorrow just as a test.
Spoils a good walk if you ask me. Following a little White ball that never goes where you want it to, carrying a big heavy sack of golf bats just so you can have a beer at the end of it all ? Nah, Ill take the Griff for a drive for a few hours, come home, put car away and walk to the local. 
What is it with golf that so riles so many people? So what if you don't like it, why feel the need to make some derogatory remarks?
I happen to love golf and I love my TVR (and no it's not a Chim). Doesn't make me comment on anyone that doesn't share the same tastes. Live and let live already. That goes for Chim owners as well, the hairy chest wig comments get so bloody stale.
Sorry if I sound a bit irritated but this section of PH really does sound like the 4 Yorkshiremen sometimes.

I guess the TVR scene does have a slight bias towards affluent middle aged men. And so does golf.
What's more, I presume Ferrari or Lotus owning golfers will generally have to leave their mid engined shoeboxes at home when they head off to the club, whereas I'm led to believe those with proper cars can get a full set of clubs in.

Indeed. Once you are too frail to do anything else with your life it is an ideal persuit. Especially as each fairway has a little wooded area you can empty your bag in and when you forget where you live or came from, all paths lead back to the safety of a club house with specialist staff to assist.Chris71 said:
