What size tyes

I'm fitting 18" Spider wheels to my Griff, What size tyres have others fitted to their wheels

Normal for 18"'s is 225/35/18 F and 245/35/18 R.

if the wheel offset is the same as before, then you can easily go 255 on the back.

A 255 would need a 9" rim

33 offset & 8.5" rims

You may be OK at the rear the front may be a bit tight.

This is a useful tool to compare the offset you have now to the one you propose to fit. The offset of your current rims will be stamped on them somewhere.

If you think they will bolt on OK without fowling then I suggest you go to a tyre web site (the toyo one is quite helpful ) and check the rolling diameter of the rubber you currently have fitted then look for a size that gives approximately the same diameter and tread width which is an acceptable fit for the rim size. I suspect 8.5 is going to be a tad wide for anything that will fit the front and still allow you to operate the steering.

Also on the web site you will see the overall tyre width, with that, the offset information and a tape measure you can work out if it will fowl the wheel arches.

I really struggle to understand the fashion for using anything other than the standard size rims for road use.

I have gone for bigger wheels as have purchased disc & AP caliper upgrade from Hans, kit includes 18" Spiders with new bearing, just got the 5 stud hubs delivered along with correct spacers for the wheel off sets.
Going to be fitting kit over next few weeks.
