My original badge was silver, that's for sure. I've seen both gold and silver ones for sale.

Of course, I wasn't impressed with the looks of any of the badges and decided to go with sprayed-on logos and some gold foil touches. I realise that doesn't help you but I do want to say it looks great! If you ever have you car resprayed...

Smarty, get some T' Cut & elbow grease on it you may be surprised by the result !

It worked on my black Griff badge & another guys when he tried it, takes a bit of constant scrubing with a rag with T'Cut to remove the milky tint & final leave a nice shiny polished look.

Leven re-did mine and they do a fantastic job, no issues with mine in 2yrs nearly and 10k+ miles . .

Thanks for the compliments, but it's not black. The first pic was without clear lacquer, not easy to spot it's red. Maybe this one is clearer, check the highlights in the numberplate recess (remains an amazingly difficult colour to photograph).

Already on, thanks John. Shots taken with a EOS 1D Mk III, this is not my first safari.

No Pasco, this is a colour I developed myself from something I had in my head. I wanted a red with high contrast between light and dark. It's using large gold flakes for a warm sheen, and there's a hint of purple in it. Here's a shot of the test sample in sunlight.

I haven't had an opportunity to take good photo's yet as the car has not been running and people have been working on it. Hopefully she'll be done in a couple of months and I can take some more serious shots.

That looks Fantastic mate

Though i have to say I'm glad its not Montpelier red as Gerbil assured me that my Griff was the only one painted with Monty

Monty is made up of nine separate components three of which are Pearl so has a super reflective effect when sunlight or even a sunset/dusk type light which reflects the clouds and looks special imho
