estoril centre cap badge diameter

Morning all + apologies if this has been asked before

My standard estorils from my 97 Grif 500 are away being refurbed...including the centre caps. The centre cap badges will be remvoed in order to paint the centre caps so I need replacements. Been quoted over £10 'each' by my local!

Seen them on ebay for much less...about £10 for 4 which sounds more reasonable but I don't know the diameter of the badges...58mm...68mm?

I can wait until I get my wheels back but just thought the pistonheads faithful might know the answer!

Good question.. They are 58mm... however, the ones on E-bay tend to be a bit bigger... I've tried a couple of them in the past, ended up with a company called :-

they made me some 57mm ones that arrived at 57.3mm... so nice fit when you take into account the paint build up...
Give Mike a call... He'll do some for the same price ie £10 for 4.. and the quality is top!!

I emailed one of the sellers on ebay, they gladly made me a set of 58mm, and also did me a set in black/gold as well...........



Just ask.

P.S They are a few months old, ignore the date on my camera......

Have you measured them?? think you may find they are slightly over 58mm when measured across to TVR bit... and if thet are, it's almost impossable to trim off and still have a good finish... if you have digital calipers give them a try... would be interested in what you find...
even 0.1mm over 58 (58.1mm) won't go in on mine anyway...

I also got some sets from ebay in the past, now on my second. One hint is to use additional glue to make sure they stay on. They do seem to be good quality despite that.

Got my wheels back and they look great - along with the matched centre caps.

Called my local TVR 'dealer' and was advised that the centre cap badges were £10 odd...each! So as advised by you guys I ordered a set of 4 from ebay...4No, delivered for about £10.

They arrived and are a perfect fit and look really good - will have to assess how well I think they will stick when I come to fitting them.

Just one more thing.... I found that the centre of the cover where the plastic had been injected to make the part... was standing proud of the surface (may be paint build up?)... so when you fitted the badge... you could see a small mark in the badge like you had a bit of durt under it... Just make sure they are sub flush or at least flat to the surface... I also filled the inner c/bore to make sure they didn't push in also.... Fully flat surface to stick to... no problem

BTW.. did you get the 58mm or ask for 57mm??

Your right about the surface and the injection moulding mark standing proud - will need to check and file as required.

Yes.. that one cost me a £10!... bugger...
Wonder if they have amended the sizes also...
