K&N air filters

Basically is it worth changing to an K&N air filter from a standard one please?

K&N panel filter for the 500 is no longer produced afaik. Would be happy to be told otherwise.

K&N filters have a good reputation. I have always used K&N's in all my cars (tuned minis, Lotus Elises, TVR's), and have just bought a new one for my Pre-Cat. The advantages are that they generally flow higher than standard air filters, and are washable, so you can clean them and re-oil. They are a bit pricier, but I would always use them, definitely worth it IMHO.

I had a K&N (paper) on my early chim but have just fitted a pipercross foam jobby on my Griff 500 - that is also washable and comes with a can of oil.

Both companies have good reps so I wouldn't worry about using either.
