Literally...
...trying to bleed the air from the cooling system - bled the rad, level in the swirl tank is up to the top and expansion tank is half way (when cold) but...
Despite having the heater and fan on when it was being filled and running the engine there is no heat coming out of the vents - assume that the circuit to the heat exchanger is air locked?
The car is on axle stands but will be coming off soon (cant wait!) - I have a thought that if I drop the rear of the car first the air in the heat exchanger loop will vent to swirl tank as it will be higher...any thoughts?
Other option is that the valve is stuck...
Thanks in advance.

Have you run it with the expansion cap off the expansion tank, just keep running it right up to temp and a blip of the throttle generally clears any stubborn blocks for me.
Very rare I have to resort to it, but it works. You can top up when it takes a big gulp and then let it cool down and check the system is full at the swirl pot and whatever level you want in the expansion.

I have just sent an engine out to a fellow tvr chap and just a snippit of running the motor up,
Filling the coolant system, i allways find it best to leave off the pipe that comes out the side of the inlet manifold to bleed any air out, so take the bleed off the radiator, fill the water system up till water is coming out of the rad bleed, put the bleed back on and tighten down, carry on filling system untill the water is coming out of the inlet manifold pipe, refit the manifold pipe, top water up in the header tank untill the water is about an inch from the top, fire the motor up and just keep toping it up with the lid off till you reach your desired level, the half fill the expansion tank, put all caps back on.
ps hopes this helps
