Hello everyone
Discussion
I'd like to introduce myself to the Forum Members. I'm Chris, from Switzerland and since about 2 years I'm dreaming of owning a Griffith 500. I guess i'll purchase one this year
first i have to figure out, what the issue with the importing of british Cars are. If anyone out there is expirienced with Car export to Switzerland, i'd be very thankful for advice. Greets from cold, but sunny switzerland

Hi Chris, great part of the world to own a Griffith, have a look at my profile pic.
Try searching in the Switzerland forum as there's a thread on it in there as some have already imported UK TVR's into CH previously.

Furkapass, about 1/2 miles above the Rhone Glacier looking over the lower slopes of the Furka below the Rhone Glacier and the Grimselpass pass climbing back out of the valley.A must do circuit for any Griffith owner, Furkapass, Grimselpass, Sustenpass, St Gotthards Pass and then stay at the River House Hotel in Andermatt for top notch rooms, food and a massage

This is from last year It's what Griffith's were made for . . . excusing cheesy music of course

You can of course import from the UK if you don't mind RHD. Should you wish to explore the LHD option, just a couple of things:
1. There are very few of them (best number I have been able to find is around 120 built).
2. Every once in a while one will come up for sale. Try www.mobile.de, the Dutch importer NIMAG (http://www.tvr.nl/nimag?nav=oyigHsHcPvCfTDH), or the Dutch TVRCC (http://www.tvrcarclub.nl/advertenties.html)
3. They are quite a lot more expensive than UK Griffs. 30k Euro is the minimum for a 500, 35k should land you a nice one.
4. Converting a RHD to LHD is almost impossible nowadays due to the steering rack not being available. At least, that is my understanding.
Best of luck in your quest - I understand if you get one from the UK, I just thought you'd might want to know about the other options.

I know this area a little, since i live in the Lucerne area, so just about 1 hour away from Furka/Gotthard Pass. All i need to enjoy this beautyful route is a powerful convertible (like a griffith) A must do circuit for any Griffith owner, Furkapass, Grimselpass, Sustenpass, St Gotthards Pass and then stay at the River House Hotel in Andermatt for top notch rooms, food and a massage
