ECU temp sensor.. bit of help please

Hi Guy's.. I got a new ECU temp sensor the other day SNB802... It came with a Lucas box as shown but for some reason was not in the box... it was wrapped in bubble wrap instead... okay so may be he's taken it out and added additional protection for posting??
But now I come to look at the existing one in there... it's plastic with a connector on top.. where as this is brass... any thoughts... Have I got a wrong one or is this correct?....

There have been slight variations over the years. The key thing is making sure the resistance is the same when the sensors are at the same temperature.

I doubt you will have a problem.

Okay.. may be... It's just going from a unit 12 years old made from Plastic... to a new one made from Brass... not quite the way of the world..
But will check the resistances... Cheers..

If the resistances are the same then why are you changing the sender?

Good point.. they are close when cold... but not sure when hot.. The new one is in now anyway.... If you read the SH manual... it looks like these things can go funny somethimes..so for the price of it... I've changed it out...
Sometimes my car when hot appears differant than the time before... not much.. but this could be the issue and they are only £10 so give it a go... Just don't want to swap out for one thats incorrect
