Boot release

Cant open boot, pressing the button and there is no noise, clicking etc. No mention in the handbook about which fuse protects it, is there something simple i should look for or is it possibly a dodgy switch? (1992 4.0)

Same happened to me. It was a burnt out solenoid. Quite common I believe, the button can stick in under the dash and fubar the solenoid for the boot release mechanism.

So I have checked the manual, done what is needed, but how does it help me getting into the boot?

So can anyone email me instructions on how to get into the boot as the solenoid appears to be fooked.?

You can run a cable from the boot into the cabin someplace, which will give an alternative if it stops working again.
