5 chirps from the alarm on disarming ??

As per the thread title really.
Started today, for no apparent reason.
Whenever I disarm / unlock the car it makes a strange chirping sound (about 5 beeps in very quick succession).
The car locks and unlocks itself perfectly, checked both doors, bonnet and boot are all shut properly numerous times and it's still doing it
Any ideas anyone ?

Bonnet switch? Where's that then. I thought the alarm only monitored the doors with switches and interior with ultrasonic.I would suspect the siren too. Mine did all sorts of strange things for a while before finally giving up. Then the replacement siren kept chirping even when it wasn't alarmed. Karl sent me a replacement FOC and that fixed it, no problems since.

Have you tried to force the alarm to go off to see if the siren is elsewhere, or confirm you haven't got one?
If not try disconnecting the battery and reconnecting as this resets it.
Failing that you need Carl Baker.
The sirens are notorious for going due to their great location of being where the water drips down the inner wing, and when they do you'll know about it. We've had 2 go off in the middle of the night. Great fun trying sort it out at 3am and once it starts chirping and whining you can't stop the damn thing. Wrapped it up in an old blanket and hid it in the shed both times.

It's not that I don't have a siren, it's the alarm button / sensor switch I havent got to detect when the bonnet is opened and trigger the alarm. As in an earlier post, it seems it's only the doors and boot that are alarmed.
If Stu can't find the problem, Carl is my next port of call.

There's a link here for Meta alarm user manuals. The only mention I could see with regards 5 chirps from the alarm was in the HPA installation manual (1 beep and 4 rapid beeps on page 15) that suggested that the battery might be low, though it wasn't clear if this meant the car battery or siren's battery backup.

I've had boot and bonnet open without alarm going off so it appears to just cover doors and internal area via the sensor under the panel by te gearstick. Siren shoudl be on nearside inner wing nect to the furthest forward chassis rail, virtually opposite to where the water bottle is, assuming the last 100 are the same.

Car battery is fine, car is kept on an accumate whenever its not in use, even over night most of the time. Could it be the battery on the siren ? Is there one, I presume there is ?!

FFG, the boot is alarmed on mine, left it open by mistake once when I locked the car and the alarm didn't like it. Seems its only the bonnet that isn't covered and yes, the siren is where you said it was on mine too
