Welding Griff Serp Exhaust manifold

I have a very slight blow at the four in to one join on the manifold. Sods law dictates its smack in the midle of the four incoming pipes and looks fairly inaccessible to me. Any suggestion on how I get it welded or plugged? Never really given it much thought but how did they make it like that! Any suggestions welcolm!

Saw the end off, weld it up from the inside, weld the end back on.

Mine cracked around the same area, badly. It's coming off any day soon for proper repair. Last year I gas welded it in situ. Was awkward doing the inside to head area as I had to use a mirror to see where I was welding. It wasn't perfect but it was 99% better than it had got, and I passed MOT too. It's easy metal to weld gas and oxy using a thin enough rod. If you do it in situ make sure you put lots of tin sheet about the place. Have a fire watcher stand by, and have a dry powder extinguisher at the ready would be me other best advice.

Oooh no welding aint for me - something I have never done, I will mark it up and get grinding and take it in for someone else to weld. Thanks for the replies chaps.

Thanks Spend - I like a challenge and will align mark it and grind out the weld. Is it sleeved or butted where the collector meets the precat?
