New Shiny Bits & great service from The Garage - David Batty

Afternoon Gents,

I have just picked my Griff up from David Batty in Guildford who has fitted the following for me:

• Blue powder coated rockers and plenum
• Silver powder coated swirl tank
• Clevor Trevor alloy PAS tank
• ACT Smooth bore AFM to filter pipe
• ACT black silicone breather hose
• ACT S/S replica exhaust manifolds
• clive f decat Y-Piece
• jonnyZ Plenum black silicone breather hose
• jonnyZ Manifold heat shields
• jonnyZ PAS hoses

I was considering doing some of the work myself but I not particularly handy with a spanner and lack patience. I am glad I left it to the professionals as I more than happy with the result

This is the first time I have taken my car to David Batty as I was a Leven customer before. I was a bit nervous about trusting my car to someone other than Simon at Leven but I must say I am very impressed with David Batty and I will be taking my car back there.

Looks amazing! I aim to try and tidy mine up at some stage.

I have braided type breather hoses at the moment and someone implied they may be a bit narrow - is that right? I can see an argument for allowing as much air to pass as needs to but is it performance affecting? Quite fancy some of these if so

• edit* Also, can I ask where you got your insulation for the AFM to filter hose? I have what amounts to tin foil round mine and it annoys me!

Hi James, thanks for the comment

With regards to your breather pipes being too narrow my gut feeling would to disagree with that comment as I cannot see how yours are massively reduced in diameter and it is just a breather pipe but I am really not qualified to comment so I would ask someone in the know. Yours does look very nice with the S/S braid with blue and red anodised hose finishers I would personally be loathed to change it unless I had to.

The HBK01 ACT Rover V8 breather is what I had fitted onto my car but in black. If you look closely you can just about spot the difference in the before and after pics.

The insulation on the AFM to air filter hose come with the smooth bore intake from ACT. Have a chat with Tim at ACT and he may be able to sell you one separately.

Are you planning on coming to any of the Mid Essex TVRCC meets this year?

Got some second-hand rocker covers for my Griff which I was going to clean up and polish myself,sold em with the car so now its down to 3024E to complete.Think its well worth the effort though as you can see from yours.

Looks great, bet you are well pleased with the result. Can I ask where did you get the heat shields for the manifold pre-cats from? I have searched high and low for some decent ones like those.

Those blue coolant hoses are worth at least 3BHP over the original black ones
