How well does the air-con actually work, I hear that generally it is a bit hit and miss? Although one guy I spoke to the other week did mention that when he swapped his pump for an improved item, the interior cycled between ice on the windows and then 'rain' (condensation) inside when the drain in the housing didn't work so well! However, having been stuck in a traffic jam in summer, when its raining I can see the allure of Air-con.

I would personally leave it as, aircon is a rare and desirable option if you ever decide to sell on. If you are looking to save weight perhaps dump the spare tyre in favour of a can of tyre weld if you haven't already.

LOL - Yes I have been there as well and the wall of heat the comes at you from the dashboard and transmission tunnel is horrific.

To be honest its never worked since i bought the car 6 months ago i guess it needs regassing.
if its anything like the rest of the heater/blower set up i cant see it being much good

Good point well made. The heater in mine most certainly does not keep me warm in the winter so by that logic there is not much chance of the aircon keeping you cool in the summer

What length did you need, and can you confirm 76mm is the correct size please, thanks.

Yeah 76mm is right and you need 1.5 meters which is plenty.;)

Which is good info as i ordered one and didnt realise how short it was
will re order a longer piece.

If you have Aircon as a factory option then repair it what ever the cost because as was said this is a scarce option !

Never bothered regassing mine,as a convertable i cant see the point of it,at some point i may try it working.
