Still got a fueling problem on the Griff. It might just be the timing though, so before I take it all the way down to peninsula would this be something I could get a local non-tvr specialst to do? I seem to remember in the bible it says it should really be done by a TVR specialist. Cant be that complicated surely?
My local garage are all ex renault main dealer staff and are very good. They service my 4x4 but they dont have experience with TVR's (apart from doing the MOT's on mine). What do you think?

The problem is that the ignition timing is best set up with all that nice diagnostic stuff on it so that you can ensure that there are no problems. TVR have changed the settings so many times that there is no real black and white value but 28 ish is a good starting point. Check that there is no pinking or pre-detonation. If so it will need to be retarded.
I’ve been having problems with pinking on the Griff, it seems to be better on super from Esso rather than optimax that I was running before, I can cure it by running a octane booster but that is treating the problem, not curing it, I think I might need the dizzy looking at.
Anyone know what the timing should be at idle if its 28 degrees @ 4000 rpm?

Oh, while I think about it, my engine was pinking quite badly over 4000rpm on full throttle yesterday, but that's the first time it's done it since I've had it all sorted out. Is it likely to be the weather causing it? (I was running on Optimax, so it shouldn't have been the fuel).
Were you previously travelling slowly, i.e enough to get the engine bay really hot, this is when it's most likely to pink, also i guess the car was set up with as much advance as possible on the dyno, it might just need retarding a tad, seeing as the air temp is much higher than when the car was on the rollers.
i would wait until the next tank of fuel just to make sure it wasn't duff petrol.
