Replacing Estoril TVR Logos

Has anyone had a go at replacing the TVR logo inserts in the Estoril wheel centres? Mine are starting to show signs of corrosion. Replacement logo stickers are available on Fleabay fairly cheaply. However, the logos are inset and look pretty tricky to get out, probably requires a stanley knife. Just wondered if anyone has had a go and whatthe results were like.

This will thoroughly test your patience its a ba***rd of a job i heated up the badges with a hairdryer and teased them off with a thin bladed knife but be very careful as the edge of thr recess the badges sit in is easily marked patience and lots of heating up is the key took me best part of 2 hrs to do the four think i got replacements from power for a tenner for 4 and 8 quid postage .Best of luck

Hi all,

The trick to doing this is to hand drill (or possible a very slowspeed on a leccy drill) thro the rear of the hub cap behind the badge .the silver in the badge is a thin piece of metal so it is possible to stop before going thru the badge.then push a screwdriver thru the hole and voila the badge peels off.spend an eternity cleaning the old glue off ,stick on the new badge and noone can see the hole .but it is there for next time the badges start looking shabby.

Where did you get the new centres from and what size would you recommend in hindsight?

Got the replacements from Clever Trevor, he doesn't specify a size but I measured them at 58mm. There's a chap on Ebay who sells one listed as 57mm which may well be the same but I didn't want to take a chance. The clever Trever ones are a similar price to the Ebay ones (about £10 for 4) but the courier delivery (about £9) is a bit steep.

Would it work just to stick the replacements over the top of the originals?

No.. you've got to get the old ones out....
Instead of drilling the disc's at the back ... why not drill the old badge at the front .. then with a small screwdriver, you can pull them off... That's the way I did it...
