Technical query....speedo sensor adjustment

Hi guys,

Following on from a previous thread, Ive got the Griff up on stands to check out the speed sensor.

Firstly it is a real pig to get to I can only see it using a mirror.
Secondly, people talked about adjusting it so that it is as close as possible to the rotating drum, as far as I can tell the sender is screw down to a shoulder so the only way to adjust it would be to bend the bracket that carries it, is it really that drastic?

On mine (before I changed to the SH version) the barrel of the sensor was threaded from top to bottom and the bracket was threaded too. There was a nut on the sensor too that locked it in place.

Adjustment required unlocking the nut then screwing the sensor up or down.

Yes access is a nightmare. removing the exhaust helps but you still have to reach around the propshaft. The trigger wheel on mine was held in place between the propshaft and the diff flange. But I've seen pictures of diffs that seem to have an integral trigger wheel so you may be able to take the propshaft out to assist in this case.
