And for that price it will be after market not genuine so it will not fit.Been through all this ,it went back three times and in the end they had to fit the genuine screen...It might have been too good to be true...
The company was called TheScreenSaver, based in Kent. They said they had a screen in stock and were meant to be coming to me this afternoon to fit it. Then I got a call to say their screen was damaged and they needed to get another in from Scotland - which was going to take 10 days and cost a lot more.
I told them I'd think about it.
Thanks for the tips about it being a genuine screen vs a copy. But how do you tell? Might be checking my insurance carefully to see if its worth claiming then.

These guys did my screen last summer, excellent service and a great job done. They have alot of TVR experience and know their stuff

Had mine replaced recently, they had big problems cutting out the old one, two blokes took over an hour! unless they are really careful with the cheese wire cutters, they can cut your screen and dashboard trim and even slice through pop rivets securing the stainless steel strip at top of the frame. (im speaking form experience!) Then gluing in the new one slightly off line and bodging the rubber strips so the roof doesnt fit and doors dont shut well.
My suggestion is this, dont go for a cheap quote, get it done by someone who can assure you they have done one of these before and wont rush it. These screens are not for inexperienced fitters who may have only trained on a polo or two.

Agree on the OE screen. Had ours replaced a few years back and it was too big. Only found out when went to put the roof panel on and it didn't fit!!
If its original it should have TVR stamped on it. The original one they fitted was a pattern and stamped as "Made if Finland" (I think). Have David Geralds still got the TVR rights for all OE windcreens and glass? If so Ian they are in Redditch so not a million miles away.
Also agree about going through your insurer - you should only have to pay the excess which is generally lower than your standard accident excess, probably £50 or £75.

OOI - how does a slightly over sized glass affect the roof because surely the glass sits in the surround wich can'y have got bigger?

Rich, Just asking for future reference...Made the hole smaller for the panel so couldn't get the rear section fully up! Can't recall what the rubber seal looked like.
