Door flew open going along

Coming home tonight and the door came open.Tried to shut door and its wound not shut.Pulled carpet away to look at door lock had a fiddle and its started working again done another 50 miles then the door came open again drove the rest of the way hanging on to the door.

is it the pin switch, lock or solenoid.

What do i check first.

I'd suggest you try the spring that retracts the mechanism and see if it's stretched. Mine did that and needed replacing.

Just a thought, have you moved the battery recently?
In my precat, the electrics that live in that area are a little sensitive to being correctly stored. If they're not in the correct place, when driving I can hear the pax door solenoid clicking sometimes.

Had it all apart this afternoon all looked ok but when i traced the second cable back to the boot i found the problem.

I had a plastic crate in the boot with holes in the sides of it so when it moved around its was pulling the door release.

Had the car eight years and i did not know that was there.
