Help sought - Window glass and door trim
Discussion
On the Griff (1992 pre), the drivers window is rattling when in the up position and makes a very unhealthy cracking noise when I shut the door – as though it is hitting metal inside the door somewhere. I am assuming that something within the mechanism that holds the glass has worked loose or needs replacing – so, door trim to remove. Having removed the speaker, I can feel two bolts, one to the left of the speaker and one to the right (about middle of the trim). Both appear to have 10mm (?) nuts. Under the door (the bottom sill face) is a Philips screw. Are these the only three anchor points I need to release in order to remove the trim so I can access the window mechanism ?
Anyone had the same problem ?

Before you go to the bother of taking the trim off lower the window and look down into the door recess. There should be a rubber guide for the glass that holds the glass into an aluminium gutter. It can work down and fall out and then the glass crashes against the metal. It can be replaced without taking the trim off but you need patience, washing up liquid and,of course, the rubber guide.
