) I've done this - it is a bitch.
Hopefully you've still got the old cable in place. If it has snapped, hopefully it has snapped just at the foot pedal.
If not, boy are you in for some fun!
You need to tape together your old and new cables so you can use the old one to pull through the new one. You'll need to break the rubber seal in the engine bay and before you cut the old cable ties, make a drawing of where they were. Otherwise if you tie the cable in wrongly it can be too tight and not run freely.
That's the only problem really - getting the cable through the bulk head. It's difficult because it has to feed round all the ventilation pipes, bits of heating pipe, a master cyclider, the steering column and other stuff. If you don't use the old cable to pull it through then you're in for a long afternoon.

I did this a while ago, and consider myself to be a qualified gynochologist now.
If you can, get an assistant. One of you will need to lie on your back in the footwell (might be easier to remove the driver's seat) while the other feeds the cable through it's grommet and past the brake master cylinder (remove the cover first so you can see what you're doing). Use a torch to illumuate the way for the poor sod on his back, and he should be able to slot the nipple into the end of the throttle cable.
It's fiddly, rather than difficult, if you understand what I mean.
